I saw this on another board and found it interesting…
What bands basically distilled their entire artistic statement/cultural influence in their very first song?
For “first song,” I’ll allow a little flexibility: You can either point to a pre-album single, or the lead song on a pre-album EP; or the first cut on their debut LP.

Is Good Times Bad Times the first Zeppelin song for this purpose? It was track 1 and I think their first single. I guess it only distilled the heavy half of their "whole deal," so not the best example.
