Dancehall had a history of homophobic lyrics (Buju Banton, Shabba Ranks, etc.) but I think current day stuff has gotten away from that.

I've thought long and hard about this tweet coming from you.

After a deep dive of early Modest Mouse over the weekend, I'm more than ready to add them to this thread's purview w/r/t the washing machine experience of the 90's & aughts in music.

Oh, "The Killing Moon" EP - it's almost impossible to find - especially on CD. Yet another cool trick they played on all the dumbasses who got rid of their turntables. But, every other Echo and the Bunnymen album...

I’ve casually listened to Yoshimi, but it’s been at least 15-20 years. Isn’t that their most noteworthy work?

Soft Bulletin is their best and probably their most revered. Yoshimi probably had more commercial success because that's when the live show went to the next level (and it's a great album in its own right).

Yeah, Yoshimi is a fine, fine album but soft bulletin is in a league of its own. They never matched it before or after.

Yes, I own Black Saint and the Sinner Lady and his Ken Burns Jazz compilation. They're both great. Not sure why I've never gone deeper.

50-ish albums is always going to be a tough thing to tackle, but Ah Um makes the most sense here.

Ah, that's a typical jazz discography -- doesn't scare me in the slightest! Mingus will be my deep dive for 2022. You heard it here first.
