I'm also really liking 'Always The Same', the live song on Youtube.
Is that supposed to be from the new album also?
Yeah, I think so.

Cool, im gonna give that a listen too
I like that one a lot better then supersoaker, ill definitely DL this album when it comes out
It's darker and a bit more punchy. I wouldn't mind if both moods are on the album.

Yeah, their audience when i saw them in 2010 was awful, a bunch of dick head fat boys and dumb bitch women/girls who were just there because they thought the band was sexy. I thought they put on a great show even with out much interaction, but they crowd really took away from what was happening on stage
My experience exactly. I was surrounded by 16 year old girls and their mothers, who knew none of their old songs. I think my love for them died when these little girls started screaming out 'MY SEX IS ON FIRE!'
Sounds like what happened with NIN when Trent released "Closer".

Sounds like a Because of the Times deep cut. Good enough song but little to no hook.

Yeah, I'm actually liking this. I had soured on this band over the past two albums like others have said, but they were one of my favorite bands through the first three albums. While I'm not sure Supersoaker is on the same level as that material, it does sound like a step back in that direction.

One of the funniest ironies with this band is that other people observed that they were 'boring' live, while I always thought they were well-rehearsed. I'd always rather watch a band who can play their songs professionally than a band who is clumsy and rough, no matter how otherwise exciting the gig is.

Yup. Maybe that's partly what the complaints were about; a lot of people are really receptive to what crowds are like. I guess it helps that I'm in the wheelchair stands so generally don't have to deal with idiots (except the venue staff, sometimes).

I watched their embarrassing doc on Netflix the other night. They totally glossed over the whole 'we don't write our own songs' thing.....not to mention how it was they actually got signed.
This new song does absolutely nothing for me by the way. Sounds to me like these guys are rich and out of ideas.

I guess I thought they were out of ideas half way through the first album, and then I thought it again when I listened to Because of the Times. I've always listened to KOL on the basis that they were a fun rock band, nothing more nothing less. I don't think the new one is any better or worse than the best songs I've heard from them.
But really, how manufactured are they? Did / do other people really write their songs for them? I mean really? Or is that just a myth surrounding them? Either way, I can't think of another boy band that actually drew attention to their songs being by other people.

Angelo Petraglia co-wrote the first album; I don't see that as a big deal. I can think of many successful bands who take credit for writing their own material and it's awful.
As for how they got signed, weren't they first signed as a duo (Caleb and Nathan) and the record company wanted to market them that way?
