Someone turned me on to Spirit's 1970 album Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sadonicus today. It's a goofy trip, and all over the place. Bluesy, folky, proggy, theatrical, and with some real pre-Van Halen guitar heroics. It's not an awesome album, but there's something oddly compelling about it.

There are probably a thousand albums just like it.

Any other undiscovered gems from this era you guys enjoy? I mean real deep digging stuff, not like Spencer/Kirwan Fleetwood Mac or Fairport Convention. But I guess that'd be fine too.

Basically anything other than Zep, Doors, Beatles, Floyd, and all the other classic rock stuff that saw a big resurgence in the 90s.

What if I told you they don’t have a first album?

Trag you should add “resurrected” to the thread title. Because these bands are being resurrected here. Here in this thread. Is where they’re being resurrected.

That doesn’t even make sense.

Where does it say they died? Would “rescued” or “rediscovered” perhaps be more appropriate?

Actually they have two first albums. The real first album didn't come out until much later. It's fucking awesome.
