The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
The duo are already looking ahead past Painted Shields: They have four songs in progress for a second album with tentative plans to tour if touring resumes (Gossard has commitments with Pearl Jam for 2021). But for now, a six-year odyssey is finally complete.
“It just kind of continues to accelerate where there’s a bunch of stuff we’re working on right now,” Gossard says. “That’s going to be for another record at some point soon. I hope so because it’s coming fast and furious right now.”
The band will be releasing their debut album in 2020 on newly reformed Loosegroove Records (owned by Stone Gossad). This will be the only physical version initially. [b]It will include a bonus 7" of tracks not on the album.

Stone Gossard again confirms they have already started working on a second Painted Shields album and thinks it may be done by June next year. He also says they will do shows at some stage possibly 2021 or beginning of 2022.
Has anyone heard the Painted Shield Track by Track (SiriusXM episode on Monday 23rd November)? I would love to hear that if anyone can share?

Full album out tomorrow (27th November) woo hoo! The vinyl release also includes bonus tracks.
I can’t see anything labelled as EP on Spotify, it just shows the singles.
Legendary guitarist Stone Gossard opens up on his new project, Painted Shield; the pain of losing Chris Cornell and Shawn Smith; and the desire to make another Pearl Jam record that really shocks people…
I’m up for a Pearl Jam album that shocks... as long as it is shockingly good! No more lightning bolts! Gigaton has given me hope that it is possible - time will tell whether it happens.
That was a really cool interview! Stone really sounds super fresh and exited about both this band and PJ. Gigaton seem to have awaken the whole band. Its comforting to know he is always doing stuff.
Listened to the full album this morning. Sonically it is the natural successor to Stone’s solo records. I loved the second half of the album more (Evil Winds!), but I liked all the songs on this. Really, really solid.
