These lyrics at the end of Gift Horse, saying fuck the king (King Charles), my daughter is my real king:
Quote:
My baby, she, she's so great I wake up grateful every day My baby is beautiful All is love and love is all Fuck the king He ain't the king, she's the king
What a f'n badass this guy is. It's early in my fandom, but he's quickly rising to the likes of Fugazi and Kendrick for writing shit and singing it in a way that really moves me.
Ultra mono may still be my favorite as of now. I could see falling hard for new one though. Joy as act of resistance is front to back rock bangers though and was my first love

Spinning Crawler today for my first time
Thoughts Trag.
Cralwer is amazing. MTT RR 420 The Wheel & Car Crash are of some of my favs.
Here’s what I texted to Strat:
Quote:
Crawler is intense.
Feels very confrontational. I don't know enough about Scottish* history/culture/music, but it feels like there are all sorts of generational DNA floating underneath. Like there are aspects that remind me of the Pogues, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg, Dropkick Murphys, Minor Threat -- grassroots protest music, but in a much gnarlier package.
Whole thing feels like a powder keg. Every note.
The Wheel and Car Crash definitely stood out to me. Meds was another early highlight.
*I have since learned they are not actually Scottish. Not sure why I thought that.

Its all good Trag. I thought they were Welsh.
If you think Crawler is intense I cant wait for you to hear "Joy As An Act of Resistance" and "Ultra Mono". Mind blowing stuff.
Im glad you are a fan. I saw idles live last year in Adelaide Australia with about 250 other punters in a small room.
