I grew up visiting grandparents who lived in the central Texas prairie. Their town, like many in that region, had a mostly Czech and German population. By all rights I should be more familiar with Polka music than I am. KULP (1390 AM) in El Campo, TX has a fair amount of polka programming and groups like The Dujka Brothers can often be heard at local Parish picnics and weddings. Still, I can't say that I own any polka in my collection and I can't name any songs off the top of my head. Good music in the right setting though, for sure.

i was at a biergarten once and the band was playing polka and then all the sudden did this super slow reggae-style cover of Monster Mash with some digital delay effect on the accordion and it was so dope
changed my whole view of polka from that point on
if you slow it down, it becomes Dub
