The final 2 tracks are still owning me. They have nothing in their RTJ catalog that touches these. I remember when EL-P teased the beat for Thursday in the Danger Room and how hyped I was for it. I can't believe the song actually outperformed what I was imagining for it.
Also, A Report to the Shareholders / Kill Your Masters transitioning from heartbreaking to melting your fucking face with Zach De La Rocha.... My god...

I think "Down" and "Call Ticketron" are my favorites. Favorite lyric: "I'm dirt, motherfucker, I can't be crushed"
That lyric is fucking brilliant.
Overall, are you more impressed with EL-P's wordplay/rhymes on this album or Killer Mike?
I find Mike evolving more and more on every release
Unlike RTJ2, which I think totally belongs to Mike, I'm finding myself more impressed by El-P this time around. But I still need some time to absorb it all.

Hmm...I hate to be the contrarian, but this record is a notable step down from the last two. It's not bad, but there's a sameness to the beats that is sort of boring (except Down). I agree that El-P is turning in the better verses here. But in the absence of A+ beats, the empty bravado of their raps sounds a little hollow. Where on the last two records everything coalesced to create a vibe that got me irrationally pumped up, my mind tends to wander when I spin this one.

This record is amazing; maybe a hair below RTJ2, but not enough to really matter. The singles I already liked, but they work even better in the context of the record.
