It Is What It Is is one of those records that keeps on giving. Constantly finding new things to enjoy. Songs that didn't grab me for weeks all of a sudden become my favorite.
This whole thing fucking slays me now.
This is pretty mindblowing, huh. I had a fretless jam earlier and this tone just tore me a new one.
I guess Black Pumas was 2019, but they released a deluxe edition in 2020 wherein the material on the second LP is I think better than the first. Then there’s Capitol Cuts, which is them playing the same songs live in the studio direct to acetate, released in 2021 which might be better than this. They need some new material but hell if they didn’t make the most of their first album.
