Maybe I'll listen to this at some point.

At this point I'd say this order but a week ago Villains was bottom. It's growing.

Rated R
Self Titled
Like Clockwork
SftD
Villains
Era Vulgaris
Lullabies to Paralyze

About halfway through this and digging it so far.

"The way you used to do" - in some way - reminds me a lot of PJ's "Got Some". Not that they're anything alike,... I like the idea of both of them, but they both suffer from the same thing: very thin, anemic production. TWYUTD could be so much bigger. Bigger drums, thumping bass, rocking swagger. Ah well.

If you like Era Vulgaris and Them Crooked Vultures you'll like this.

If you hate those then you'll hate this.

Mark Ronson was such a shitty choice for production though. I mean fucking seriously?

I know.

I finally got to put this thing on my home stereo.

And it really sounds great. I have no problem with Ronson's involvement. Seperation between instruments is really great.

I really like the albums that I put on the bottom of the list, it's just that I like the top ones more

Just an incredible band top to bottom, them and Dan are probably the 2 most underrated bands to walk the earth

Also, did a proper rip of this leak yet??

Leak? It's been officially released.

Even with the better rip- just cant get into what you used to do, fortress, hideaway, and circumstance. I liked the ballads on clockwork, not this one. Evil has Landed is a mash up of the ocean and hots on for nowhere; and that is cool. Night Ranger wants their keyboards back Josh.

The only song on this I'm not loving so far is "Domesticated Animals".

Just listened to the official release and it does sound pretty great. Lovely separation. My only problem is the cymbal sound. Way too thin and processed.

TWYUTD is way better

Listened a couple times digitally and am now listening to the record.

It definitely has a distinct production that might turn a lot of people off. As of now, the approach works great on a couple of the songs but falls short on others. I do like my QOTSA to be meaty, heavy, and sexy....This album is thin in comparison to other queens albums.

So far there isn't anything that super grabs me. Nothing super sexy and potent that stands out. Some of the songs meander a bit too much but that might be due in part to only a couple listens.

The way you used to is still fantastic. Also, just saw an interview with Homme discussing that the claps during the song are done via a pedal from the drummer playing live along witht he band. No overdubs or click tracks on the claps. Cool.

Currently:

Feet Don't Fail Me
The Way You Used to Do
Un-Reborn Again
Head Like a Haunted House
Villains of Circumstance
Hideaway
The Evil Has Landed
Fortress
Domesticated Animals

This album is great.

There should have been more Feet Dont Fail Me Now and The Way You Used to Do and less Domesticated animals and head like a haunted house.
