The attention span of the average consumer has grown dangerously short.
You clearly don’t listen to a lot of rap albums
Are you talking exclusively about rap albums? Seems to me you're making a point about albums, of all genres, in general. Not to mention, your well established stance about TV being too long and film being superior in that regard.

You really think my comments about this have to do with me having a short attention span? I just appreciate brevity and efficiency. Things are only too long when they have unnecessary filler, which is almost always the case with albums and TV shows.

No, I don't think they have to do with a short attention span exclusively. Not at all. But it's a factor in the average consumer culture, in general. Absolutely.
I agree that thins are only two long when they have unnecessary filler, but I'd be willing to be we're fairly opposed on how we would define "unnecessary filler."
Holy fuck, Kanye just tweeted that he produced a new Nas album dropping in June as well. Goddamn.
As someone who appreciates Kanye and his production skills far more than he likes Kanye and his voice/performances, I gotta say, this is pretty fucking exciting.

This has the chance to be the first great thing Kanye has done since 808s.

Uggggghhhhjh you’re one of those
He has two approaches to making albums:
1. Focused and consistent.
2. Everything but the kitchen sink
I find his albums of the first variety to be amazing, and of the second variety to be quite shitty.

Yeezus is far and away his most focused and consistent work. It’s not even close.

And I love Yeezus, it's magnificent. But I like 808's better, and I also like Nas's rapping much more than Kanye's, hence my original comment.
