Biggie was an amazing lyricist. Pretty much the quintessential "hard-hitting" MC. He was similar to Nas in the while he always had good production, the production was never really the star of the show (even though P Diddy got a lot of press.) Biggy could have rapped over a Casio beat and killed it. Kanye has gotten better but he's still nothing without his production abilities.
he has, havent u seen the videos of him on the corner before he got big? also, i think puffy is a good producer, but he was planting seeds to become an mc the whole time he was producing. thats why suge knight hates him and called him out.

Looking forward to the review. I saw Kanye in 2005 supporting "Late Registration" and he personally was great, very intense, but the fact that his backing was basically just his CD being played really loud through the sound system really flattened the impact of the performance.
