I wonder if it'll grow on me. I think it probably will. I adore Nick Cave. But that album just did not work for me on first listen. It was so off putting that I haven't wanted to listen to it again. Much to my detriment, I'm sure. I think it'll grow on me. I'll give it another chance for sure. I just need to give it some space.

Keep in mind that Nick cave is a man

Oooh. So edgy. And super intelligent. Thank god you're not letting the board down.

there are a lot great albums from 2019, but there's nothing that holds a candle to lana del rey.

Haven't had a desire to listen to any of her stuff yet. Is it as good as the new Tool album?

sooooo, in hindsight i guess i was a little hyperbolic. i think it’s the best album of the year for me, but that angel olsen comes close for me too.

That's pretty much been on repeat for me since it came out.

Earlier on in this thread I posted about the lead guitarist from Band of Horses, Tyler Ramsey's, very good solo album he released this year. Must be a thing this year, because the guitarist from The War on Drugs, Anthony LaMarca, has now also released a solo album under the name The Building. It's a soft album, brushed drums and soft vocals, and was apparently recorded whilst he was undergoing treatment for bone marrow cancer.

It's not bad. Here's All Things New from it:

So, total change of pace now. The Murder Capital are another Dublin-based rawk band (think Fontaines DC for some comparison), but for mine their debut from this year, When I Have Fears, is the better album. Certainly I'm more drawn to the straight-ahead post punk of The Murder Capital, and the comparisons to early Cure and Joy Division are obvious. Gotta say the production on this one is great too - it sounds big.

Here's Green & Blue:

Ghosteen = shelter dogs.

We do not deserve them.

Seriously though, such a gorgeous album. I get that it can be hard, but oh so worth it.
