I’ve have heard very little but I’m keen the hear more. The cover has amazing space and their voices work so well together. Manchester Orchestra have released a few songs this year that if grouped as an ep it’d be my favourite release. Their last album was good but I feel their next could be insanely good.

They have great taste for sure.

They've also been playing a lot of Frightened Rabbit covers this year. :worthy:

Because if so, they're #1 and 2

I'm so happy to see all the Camp Cope love in these threads.

G Maq is such a ridiculous talent.

I'm not sure if this was a below average year for music or if I'm just getting old. Apart from Mitski I haven't discovered many new artists this year (though I haven't really had the time to try too hard either). So will definitely be checking out the lists from you fine folks over the Xmas break

Here's my annual best of the year mix:

Image

01 Courtney Barnett - Nameless, Faceless
02 Muse - Pressure
03 Interpol - Flight of Fancy
04 Mitski - A Pearl
05 Father John Misty - Disappointing Diamonds Are The Rarest Of Them All
06 Cat Power - Woman
07 Sarah Blasko - Read My Mind
08 Neil & Liam Finn - Meet Me In The Air
09 Powderfinger - Feels Like Something (Demo)
10 Courtney Barnett - Need a Little Time
11 Live - Brother
12 Lady Gaga - Heal Me
13 Chvrches - Never Say Die
14 Muse - Break It To Me
15 Beach House - Lemon Glow
16 Jeff Tweedy - I Know What It's Like
17 Death Cab For Cutie - Summer Years
18 Mitski - Remember My Name
19 Joan as Police Woman - Steed (for Jean Genet)
20 Meg Mac - Let It Happen* (Tame Impala cover)
21 Thom Yorke - Suspirium

*Missing from Spotify playlist (not available)

Glad to see Joan As Police Woman, Anders! I did a couple records in the studio where she made a couple albums, and the studio owner happened to be working on some of her stuff at the time. I was way into what I heard, but haven’t kept up. I’ll check this new one out for sure. Thanks!
