Pretty excited for this new record on Drag City called Ghosted. Band members are Oren Ambarchi, Johan Berthling, and Andreas Werliin; the new single "I" features "the legendary Swedish reed player Christer Bothén on donso n'goni."

Ambarchi is the only guy I've heard before -- he's done some stuff with Jim O'Rourke in the past. And I had to google the donso n'goni to recognize what it was. But anyway, the first two songs from the album take some obvious cues from bands I've loved in the past. "I" sounds very much like the best work by The Necks, while "II" sounds very much like a handful of different Can songs:

Have pre-ordered the LP based on these two tracks. Album out 4/15.

Really liked both of these, thanks. I'm always happy to see this thread bumped -- I almost always end up liking what gets shared here :)

Found this krautrock family tree. Thinking of getting it tattooed on my body like Memento

Oren Ambarchi’s Shebang is out now on Drag City and it’s magnificent. Starts as an obvious homage to Reich’s work with Pat Metheny, but evolves from there across its 35 minutes.

Yeah, those 2 tracks were great. I'll grab that and give it a listen. Always looking for more stuff on my "approved for work" playlist.

Does this meet the criteria? I think it's quite minimalistic (and beautiful).

Not the whole album, but there's more minimalistic compositions on their earlier albums. I discovered these guys a couple of years ago and been a fan since. Of Profession is another favorite of mine from that album. Edit: or you tell me if you'd consider the other songs minimalistic.
