Pitchfork turned me on to this one a few days ago, and I've got to say that I'm absolutely loving it. Four musicians in different states collaborated virtually to create this stunning jazz record that delves confidently into minimalism, EDM, and (vaguely Japanese) folk(?). It's the closest thing I've found to my beloved The Visitor by Jim O'Rourke.

You created both of these threads. I'm not merging just to punish you for not searching and not remembering you already created one

His Ambient 2 collaboration with Eno is one of my favorites.

I've been listening to his album with XTC's Andy Partridge a lot this last week or so.

what album is that?

Through the Hill

There's only bits and pieces on YouTube but I can shoot you a link later when I get a chance.

Spenno, holy crap, this album...I put it on my headphones last night, thinking I'd drift off to some pleasant soundscapes. But I was too riveted to fall asleep. Really a stunning album, will be spinning it again today. Between this and the Harvey Mandel album you sent, you're having quite the impact on my collection this week.

bumping this one too because it's still amazing

They just released a new one. Will be listening in depth later this morning, but at first blush it seems very similar to the last one. Loving this.

Always looking for good Ambient/Minimalism recommendations. Everything in the vain of Stars Of The Lid would be great.

There's no other music that puts me in this weirdly dreamy/heavenly/relaxed mood that SOTL put me in.

Hey, I missed this. Thanks! I had always heard of this band, but wrongly assumed they were post-rock, in the vein of Explosions In The Sky. This sounds great though, will start exploring.
