Whatever is a great album.
We need a new album soon.
I'd be very surprised if we don't have a song by October and an album by February or March.
I'm cool with that timetable. Any substance to it?
Not at all, unfortunately, but they wrapped up the LSP stuff around this time last year, and there was talk in the fall, I think, of them being back home to record.

Have you Arctic Monkey fans checked out Mini Mansions?
It's Zach Dawes of The last shadow puppets, Mike Schuman of qotsa and Tyler Parkford of Mini Mansions.
I’ve heard 1 or 2 songs. Not sure. They’re supporting this Friday so I’ll see them then.
I’m excited for you and can’t wait for your review. I did not get a chance to see them on the tranquility base tour after seeing them support each of the previous 4 albums. I would travel to see them if they’d play stateside again this summer.

This was a weird experience. Most of the gigs I see now days aren't popular gigs so the crowd is mainly chilled middle aged dudes. This was different and I had totally underestimated just how big the AM album was. The crowd on the floor was mainly university aged and was 60/40 male/female. All cool I thought. Turns out the level of entitlement of a few had a massive effect on my enjoyment. Since when do guys get on the shoulders of other guys at gigs. Fuck that. Add to that some Brits who were not only plastered but up for antagonizing others. To the show...
Mini Mansions were okay but not really my thing. A bit too smooth. Their last track had Matt join in on a second kit and that was good. Lots a squealing going on though which was a worry.
AM hit the stage with 4 extra guys. They nailed pretty much every track although some of the older material didn't seem to have the necessary revs. Maybe it's the attitude or maybe they're not in to that material at the moment. There were times I thought they were even bored. Maybe not everyone is as into the new direction. Of which, every TBH&C track had a change to the stage setup. A huge lighting rig was lowered 5 times through the set for those tracks, each time taking up to a minute. It broke the set and lost momentum although it did look cool.
