I mean, they talk a lot about how they became the party boys they were making fun of in fight for your right. And how they hated that tour and wanted it to be over. And how they were embarrassed to go home because of it

but they don't talk about banging groupies or bringing the huge inflatable dick on stage?

Oh yes they do. Especially the dick and how it turned into a symbol of them being huge dicks

This documentary is making me want to revisit some of their influences and friends. Clash, Bad Brains, Luscious Jackson, Kraftwerk...

you ever listen to the Money Mark albums?

I know him from his work with the band.

Also, I like how they straight up admitted how they handled kicking Kate out of the band as super shitty of them

You should check out his records, it sounds like the funkier stuff from the CYH-IC era.

Yeah the Kate stuff was shitty. My concern with this doc is that they're whitewashing some of their shittier moments from their younger days. Is that the case?

They talk a lot of the first years. I think they adressed it correctly.

this is good to hear. The trailer made it look like they were going the PJ20 route.

Not really. There is so much left, i mean its impossible to cram everything into one movie. And they are telling the story themselves, so who know if Kate is ok with what they say or she also wants to tell her story....but its a good doc. I would prefer something else besides the live show, but i was super into it.

Pretty rough when they talked about the Bonnaroo 09 show and MCA. Sucks, man.

MCA looms over all the doc, but the end is really hard. I totally get now why these guys doesnt want to continue.

Watched the documentary tonight and loved it a lot. It was my gf's first-ever exposure to the band beyond "Sabotage" and "Fight for Your Right," and she was a bawling mess by the end

I don't need another Beastie Boys Best Of. Let's dig into the demos or live shows.

Although, this did trigger me to buy To The Five Boroughs. Only albums I'm missing on vinyl are Hello Nasty and Hot Sauce.
