That "Evening with Shadrach..." thing has some good samples.

Liebzz you’ve got to do the “lesser” albums and EPs: Some Old Bullshit, Aglo e Olio EP, The In Sound... just doing their major releases isn’t really giving them
a fair shake.

 You could probably skip either Algo e Olio or Some Old Bullshit, but you've got to review some of their hardcore stuff either way. Its DNA is all over their later rock songs like Sabotage and Gratitude.

What I found so far for streaming:

Licensed to Ill
Paul’s Boutique
Love American Style
An Exciting Evening At Home...
Check Your Head
Some Old Bullshit
Ill Communication
The In Sound From Way Out
Hello Nasty
To the Five Boroughs
The Mix Up
The Mix Up Bonus Tracks
Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 2

Sufficient?

You can skip Love American Style, those songs are on Paul's Boutique. And I'd argue the Mix Up Bonus Tracks are overkill, but whatevs.

I'd also suggest STARTING with Some Old Bullshit, because it pre-dates License To Ill

I also hate License To Ill, but I respect it for what it is. Rick Rubin's strength has always been pairing a song down to its basic, strongest elements, and License is a good example of that.

100%

For the record, I was just being snarky. It's not an album I reach for anymore but some of those song still hold a place in my heart. And if I was doing a full catalog listen, I'd be a fool to skip it. It has it's place.

What the band achieved AFTER License is truly amazing, though. What (and who) they became is fantastic.

 And the leap from License to Paul's Boutique is astounding. Radiohead is the only other band that comes to mind that made such strides between their first and second albums.
