I trust in Jorge's curating ability completely, I just also enjoy watching him defend his position in this, the most meaningless of shit. Same with Jordo in the Nu tourney.

Wiki backs up jorg's Green Day statements. Still, Longview didn't do shit with my 8th grade peers, while Welcome To Paradise was huge. Would love to hear from other Boston area posters if they have the same recollection? Wondering if it was something unique to WBCN/WAAF

This stuff is so anecdotal, and probably tainted by the fact that the people doing the remembering were between, what, 8 and 12 years of age when these songs were popular? In my experience, "Longview" was inescapable; I wasn't even aware of "Welcome to Paradise" until I bought Dookie.

Longview was definitely a radio hit in the Twin Cities on the hard rock station, but Welcome to Paradise was a mega hit being played on multiple stations CONSTANTLY. And if it were in the tournament I would consider voting for Welcome to Paradise to win the whole thing. Basketcase would’ve been the only GD song that I would’ve guessed surpassed Welcome to Paradise in popularity.
