My buddy is a huge Spoon nerd, and the new single talks about Memphis (where he lives) and South Front Street (near where he works). He's geeking. It's cute to see.
So this is damn good. It's amazing how much mileage you can get from writing with a new lead instrument, in this case, keyboards and synths instead of guitars. Like how Springsteen wrote Born to Run on the piano. (As a side note, this is something I wish PJ would do.)
Anyway, it's funky and makes me want to just tap my foot until the soles wear down and I have to go to Amazon.com to buy a new pair only to start the vicious cycle all over again.
It's like Britt Daniel heard that last Tame Impala record and said, "Hmmmmm."

Have always loved Kill the Moonlight>Gimme Fiction>Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, but hadn't ventured beyond that. Sent the bat signal out and strat suggest They Want My Soul. I already love this album, already outpacing Gimme Fiction which I found a little obtuse. Only track I don't love is Knock Knock Knock (that abrasive sound is just too much for this song). Otherwise killer stuff.
