I don’t know! It’s like Traveling Wilburys but way better. LOVE LOVE LOVE the production: classic Nashville sound peppered with 80s production flourishes. Almost reminds me of Emmylou Harris’s Wrecking Ball in that regard, but more tempered.

Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real’s Sticks and Stones came out today. It’s a fun album.

Never listened to one of their albums, but I did see them live back in 2016 or 2017 and they blew me away

Just learned about the Highwaymen supergroup. WTF bros, this is awesome.

Great group, I had to work on a video that featured "The Last Cowboy Song" so that song is permanently lodged in my prefrontal cortex now

:hooray:

On Saturday, our daughter had her second horse riding lesson, but the first where she actually rode a horse. The lesson is at this massive nature preserve about 40 minutes from our place, Bridger range right in front of us, prairie to our backs.

We took the frontage road on our way back home and put this album on. We were glowing from the proxy experience of our kid, windows down, rural route through Montana farmland. This album slayed us.

Favorite songs so far are the rendition of the Highwaymen track, Redesigning Women, If She Ever Leaves Me, and Old Soul. Didn’t quite make it though the whole thing so I can’t speak to the last 3-4 songs yet.

The lyrics occasionally feel a little hammy, but that’s most country I guess. But it doesn’t matter, the harmonies, the backing band, and the subject matter all make for an all-time keeper.

Thank you sir!

So glad you're digging it.

If She's Ever Leaves Me is so special... Written by Jason Isbell & Amanda Shires specifically for Brandi Carlile to sing. One of the only opening gay county songs I can think of. And just a brilliant song/performance.

Crowded Table also guts me. I can't hear the chorus without tearing up. To me, that's what all of this is about. :heartbeat:

I'm just so goddamn happy that you're listening to this record.

I have a Like Combs mix/station (on Pandora) that I put on out in the back yard and it really has come down to about 20 songs on a loop. I’m disappointed that it doesn’t range a little wider and now I think I’m going to have to re-designate it to play “country music” rather than centered around any individual artist.

Apparently some of the protest footage in this isn’t even from the U.S.
