Welcome to macphisto’s Pandora blog!

Just now I got Desire->Elderly Woman (Live on TL)->Crowded House’s Don’t Dream It’s Over (Live version where he mentions Bono)

“You know somethin’, you’re a fuckin’ ugly son of a bitch.”

This has to be the grittiest performance ever of Desire and features Mirror Ball Man, a precurser to MacPhisto. I love it.

I’m probably going to watch this whole thing tonight. Please do me a personal favor and at least watch the intro and first number.

I love how they open the show like, “Here’s six songs from our new album, and if you don’t like it, FUCK YOU.”

Spoiler: show
Edge marries the belly dancer.

“We’re havin’ a good time here, rain or not.”

The best U2 show I ever saw, or ever will see, was with PHATJ in the pouring rain.

A rendition of Bad that starts so rough it sounds like the band is playing it live for the first time, and ends so strong you have to change your undergarments.

Hell yes, buddy. I was talking to an old high school friend about that show last weekend. He’s the other biggest U2 fan I know. He was at that show too and we were reminiscing about how awesome it was. Zooropa was a personal highlight. :heartbeat:

Shit’s uncanny. This station is playing so much PJ, I started thinking I must have seeded it with them at some point, so I checked. The only input I’ve given this station regarding PJ was a thumbs-down for Wishlist.

Heartland->Given to Fly->Drive by The Cars->Learn to Fly by FF

Just sang along to this one in the car with my middle child in the backseat and tears welling up in my eyes. We butt heads constantly, and my wife says it's because we're the same person, even though neither of us wants to admit it.

We fight, all the time
You and I, that's alright
We're the same soul
I don't need, I don't need to hear you say
That if we weren't so alike
You'd like me a whole lot more

Listen to me now
I need to let you know
You don't have to go it alone

It’s fun to see bands that are so clearly direct descendants of U2.

Regarding that DC show above, the phone call and Ultraviolet following Desire are top shelf.

“I’d just like to leave a message, if you could tell the President to watch more television. Thank you. Thanks very much now.”

At my in-laws cabin and someone turned on the satellite radio. It’s on this station called U2 Experience which totally kicks the shit out of its Pandora counterpart. Deep cuts and rarities galore. Hearing Slug from Passengers now.

I see Zooropa is getting re-issued on vinyl. Could not be happier

Looks like Achtung and Best Of 80-90 too.

I have a small stack of vinyl that I never listen to, but no U2 in the collection. Thanks for the heads up, I'll have to grab these.
