Btw, about SOTSOG
Gas Panic is one my fav Oasis Tune, so powerful
Roll It Over is very underrated

Gas Panic until the end of the album is really strong. The one-two punch of the Noel sung songs is great (I’m in the camp that loves his voice). I get that the album is not the success of past releases, but I find the argument that the songs aren’t there just doesn’t hold up to how I feel about the record.
Disclaimer: I’ve only been catching up on the post-Morning Glory catalog the last few years so I’d like to think my feelings on the records aren’t tied to nostalgia. I recognize that newly discovered sounds from a period can have a similar affect however.
I haven't listened yet, nor have I gotten to the Acoustic Sessions either although I am intrigued by the selection of Sad Song. Thanks for the reminder.

I love 'Fuckin' in the Bushes' > 'Go Let It Out' > 'Who Feels Love?'. Standing on the Shoulder of Giants is quite lackluster overall, but what a start! Also 'Gas Panic!' is incredible, obviously.
I've also been digging bits and pieces from Be Here Now. 'D' You Know What I Mean' > 'My Big Mouth' is another outstanding start, but that momentum is completely lost in 'Magic Pie'. Some late gems include 'All Around the World' and 'It's Getting Better (Man!!)'.
I think I'd listen to a lot more Oasis if I just made a mix. I should probably hop on that.

The things that apparently warrant a "greatest hits" these days.
Noel's demos are superior to anything he's officially released, lol. I made a Noel exclusive demo/b-sides mix last year when Don't Stop was released that destroys anything from the High Flying Turds:
Lord, Don't Slow Me Down Don't Stop I Wanna Live In A Dream (In My Record Machine) Stop The Clocks Can You See It Now Waiting For The Rapture (alternate take) The Turning (alt. take) Falling Down (alt. take) Those Swollen Hand Blues Gas Panic Where Did It All Go Wrong (As Long As They've Got) Cigarettes In Hell One Way Road Carry Us All Full On Just Getting Older Shout It Out Loud Sitting Here In Silence (On My Own)
Get over yourself, call Liam & get the band back together. The world NEEDS an Oasis reunion.

They're milking the feud till after the pandemic cools down. Plus it'll give Liam time to practice hitting those highs.
I hadn't thought of that - but you're probably onto something. Liam cracked me the fuck up on a consistent basis during the early days of CoVid from his twitter feed.
edit: Gas Panic is one of my favorites and the Noel version is a great alternate take on it.
