Be Here Now is finally coming as a box set, I can see it on Apple Music. Most of the unreleased stuff is from something called Mustique Demo.
I love how Noel talks about this album...
On the writing and recording...
"It was an album mixed on cocaine. That's why it sounds like it does. Loads and loads of trebly guitars...I wasn't prepared to make things any better. I'd get to a certain point and go, 'Fuck it, that'll do.' We made the record to justify the drug habit."
“‘Well I wrote it on holiday, and let’s put it this way, I had a fucking great holiday’.”
On revisitng the album for the re-issue....
"…I went into the studio and after about two days I was like, ‘This is missing the point, the album is supposed to be this fucking mental’. I went back to a couple of things I’d edited and though ‘nah, they sound fucking shit, they sound better when there’s no singing before three minutes’ [puts head back, inhales deeply through nose]. So, y’know, you’re kind of digesting the cocaine before the singing starts. It is to be accompanied with a crate of beer and a bag of fucking charlie, and don’t be making any plans for the next couple of days. That’s the spirit in which it was intended. And if you listen to it in that spirit, it might be the greatest album of all time."
On the Be here Now tour...
"…that tour and the whole experience of making that record was the most enjoyable experience I’ve ever had in the music business, because we didn’t give a fuck. We started the tour as the biggest band in the world and finished it outside the Champions League spots. We’d blown it somehow, but it was brilliant. I’ll never forget it."

We can probably drop the 'Beady Eye' from the subject now...
The finished product from Noel is very much him experimenting with quite non-textbook oasis offerings and I like that, it's fresh though I feel he may be getting a bit lost in the mix; I haven't gotten to a show but I'd like to to see how the songs come across live. His work with the Chemical Bros. and the like is really taking center stage now.
Liam's current gigs are almost all oasis material incorporating nothing he wrote. That said I think 'For What's It's Worth' is a solid effort and he sounds great, the YT Air Studios video with strings (assuming there wasn't a bunch of post-production) is pretty spot on.
I'd imagine I have said this at some point in this thread somewhere but for all Noel's songwriting strengths, his ear to create a good hook or melody and Liam's often timeless vox along with a dynamic stage presence well... the magic was really found in the synergy
