Every month at work, our group (about 8 of us) has a music listening session. You bring in 2 songs. Generally, one song is "a song you like that's been released in the last 3 months" and the other song fits within a wildcard category that changes every month.
This month, the wildcard song is: A Song That Defines You
Song can be any age, as long as it's a song that defines you as a whole, or soundtracks a defining moment in your life.

Off the top of my head.
Look Back and Laugh - Minor Threat (skater-punk phase/everything about you sucks) Just Like Heaven - The Cure (girls/high school/it's cool to be moody) In the Mouth a Desert - Pavement (90s/everything still kinda sucks, but I love this woman!) Cody - Mogwai (we're married now/it's over/post-rock until I die)

This a great topic. Interestingly enough, I had a dream a couple weeks back that I don't remember much of, but when I woke I was filled with the complete, total, absolute KNOWLEDGE that my friend Matt IS the song "25 or 6 to 4" by Chicago. If he was a song, he would be that song. And there's no debating it. It is a universal truth. A fact.
Since posting about that dream and new found knowledge, many have asked me what song I am. And I really have no clue. But there are several songs that have defined me or that I find myself in when I listen. In My Tree is a big one. Pony by Tom Waits is another. But I'm not sure what I'd pick if I had to pick one.
It's not an all-time favorite and the lyrics don't have any particular special meaning but I used this song to test the first real set of speakers I bought, 20 years later it was the song I used to get me through hellish child custody battles and I still use during running/biking races as my finish line song.
