Probably The Soft Bulletin but I love Yoshimi too. It’s been a long time since I’ve gone through a Flaming Lips phase. They used to be one of my absolute favorite bands but they lost me after At War with the Mystics.

Soft Bulletin. Dig both albums though, of course. I had a copy of Clouds Taste Metallic on cassette, and the novelty of Zaireeka blew my college freshman mind, but I never really listened to it other than drunken listening parties with 4 boomboxes. Soft Bulletin was just next level. Bulletin and Yoshimi are obviously peak FL, it's hard to pick one. But gotta go with Soft Bulletin bc it was truly the first great Lips album.
Same as above, totally lost me with Mystics. Then Wayne's antics just made me totally lose interest in the band.
Yoshimi doesn't mean as much to me as it does to others. It's certainly not a bad record, but it's not one I really have any desire to listen to and it was the last Flaming Lips album that I bought and listened to from beginning to end. They have a lot of great stuff pre-Yoshimi, but nothing they've done since has been all that interesting to me.
I still listen to Soft Bulletin fairly regularly, though.
