Seems like this is where all the good shit is coming from these days.

You've got the mighty Hiss Golden Messenger:

Which features Phil Cook on guitar and keys:

Who used to play in Megafaun with Nick Sanborn of Sylvan Esso:

You also have Dead Tongues, which features HGM/Cook sideman Ryan Gustafson:

And Mountain Man, Sylvan Esso's Amelia Meath's old band:

Discuss if you like.

Phil Cook looks like a healthier Jay Bennett.

I can see that. Kinda fits, since he fills the same jack-of-all-trades role in most of the bands he's in.

His new album is gonna be great. I got to see him and his band road test a bunch of songs at a private show the other night. I think they're recording this week at Bon Iver's place.

It seems like the place to be right now...if you can handle six months of negative temps per year

Listened to the most recent Phil Cook album per this thread. Sounds sort of like the stuff coming out of the Texas Hill Country. I like it.

I have two HGM album ("Haw" and "Heart Like a Levee") and enjoy them both a lot. I am also a big fan of Tift Merritt, one of HGM's most frequent collaborators.

Shit! Totally forgot about Tift.

I would suggest "Poor Moon" next. I love all of his albums about equally, but that one has a magical, mystical quality to it that I doubt he'll ever be able to recapture.

Man. This thread really came at the right time for me. Didn’t know what HGM to start out with so I picked Lord I Love the Rain based on the album cover on Spotify. I wasn’t disappointed at all. Had it playing while cooking breakfast and by the time we had finished our plates and reached for the second cup of coffee, “Tell Everyone” was closing it out. I’m hooked.

Anyone know of a good website where I can buy high quality NC furniture direct from the manufacturer, that sells patio furniture?

i have used Casco Bay in the past (middleman in ME) but they don't have connects for outdoor furniture
