Glassjaw will release their first album in 15 years, Material Control on December 1st. Their last releases were a pair of EPs in 2011, which were their first releases in 9 years at the time. They kick ass. Anyone like them around here? |

OH MY GOD FUCKING FINALLY Worship and Tribute is one of my top 10-ish albums ever. Our Color Green and Coloring Book are also incredible. That song they released a while back ("New White Extremity") is just as good as anything they've done. And supposedly Billy Rymer laid down the drums for this album. Unlike the underwhelming ATDI reunion, I have no reason to suspect this will be anything but amazing. PUMPED |

I’m fairly certain I’ve seen you on RYM in a Glassjaw shoutbox before. So fucking hyped for this. I was pissed I miss their headlining show in Cleveland this month and even more pissed when I saw they played 7 new songs at the show. So this is a relief, holding out hope they come back again some time soon. Billy Rymer is a fucking amazing drummer and if he joins Glassjaw when Dillinger retires at the end of next month, well that would be a killer matchup. |

Oh my god. How do you guys listen to this and not think its an obvious ripoff of incubus? And incubus mostly sucks. These guys sound like a band put together on American Idol to sound like a cover band of Incubus. C'mon. Anybody have class around here? fuck. |

This band sounds absolutely nothing like Incubus. You don't know what you're talking about, Strat. Stick to Father John Misty or Dave Matthews or whatever |

and yes they do sound like incubus. I listened to 2/5's of 5 songs and my opinion is valid and correct. |

I've heard of this band, but have never listened to anything. After one song, I'm thinking I could really like this. |

Without Ward, it's kinda just another Bixler/Rodriguez-Lopez project. But, in any case, I think ROC is a lightning-in-a-bottle record for me. Nothing else ATDI produced in any other session is even in the same universe to my ears. On the other hand, I love everything Glassjaw has ever made (with the exception of their debut album). |

Is it just me, or does the mixing seem kinda weird on this? Palumbo's vocals sound really buried. |

That new song is awesome, their packages for buying this album are fucking insane though. $65 for the cheapest one, and some of them are fucking nuts like a tattoo of their logo. This is the band that once released an EP by buying a “Glassjaw pizza” at 1:11 PM at some random pizza shop on Long Island though. |

So, 1. This album is very, very good. 2. This album is also very short. Which isn't a bad thing? But after a 15 year gap since their last LP, 12 new songs - one of which was released two years ago, and two of which are short, instrumental, filler tracks - seems a bit paltry. 3. The way they combined their aggressive, energetic Worship and Tribute/Our Color Green sound and their sensual, jazzy Coloring Book sound into one new whole is striking. The album feels a bit experimental. They definitely aren't resting on their laurels or trying to retread worn ground. 4. I love this band, oh my god I love this band. |
