King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard put out an album almost every weekend it seems, and most of them are pretty solid and certainly consistent. Their most recent though slows them down lots, and to my mind sees them settling in to celebrating a lazy Australian summer. I'm enjoying this one lots.

Another new one on Constellation, this time from Eric Chenaux. Titled Slowly Paradise, it comes out March 9. Really excited about this one because Eric might be my favorite musician, and he's had a pretty prolific and strong string of releases with Constellation. This is the closing song, "Wild Moon":

Will Johnson (Centro-Matic, Monsters of Folk, New Multitudes, etc.) has a new project out with Justin Peter Kinkel-Schuster of Water Liars: Marie/Lepanto. The album is called "Tenkiller" and it's so good.

That Marie/Lepanto LP somehow flew under my radar until I was listening to Little Raider and decided to check out WJ's Twitter to see what he was up to. Haven't had a chance to listen yet, but have really liked his recent output.

My kid just gave me a cd of demoed for their next album. They enter the recording studio later this month and I'm going to go out on a limb and say the record makes 'year best' lists in Canada if not elsewhere. It's parts r&b, soul and hip hip, making for their own version of rhythm and flow. I can't wait for the finished album and for people to hear it.

The last one they released last year (#5 Of The year) might be the best. Gumboot Soup.
