Like the new Dr. Dog better than their last couple of albums. Low key

The Hop Along album is the best one so far this year. Nothing else really impressed me, yet.

Here I am, pushing Constellation again. Alanis Obomsawin is a documentary filmmaker and member of the Abenaki Nation, but got her artistic start in music in the mid '60s. She performed for the next couple decades while building up her film career and recorded the album Bush Lady in the mid '80s. Released on private press with only a small portion of the stock being sold, it's now getting its first widespread release on vinyl, CD, and digital, out June 15. The opening track is "Odana":

Something else that came out last month is the third album by Cavern of Anti-Matter, Hormone Lemonade. Spenno, have you hooked into this one, yet? More wonderful synth jams from a band I really ought to get deeper into.

I think I like the new Hop Along better than everything I listened to from 2017.

The new Beach House record just put an end to this statement.

Fantastic Negrito (who opened for Temple of the Dog on their 25th anniversary tour) is coming out with an album on June 15th called “Please Don’t Be Dead.” First single, Plastic Hamburgers, can be streamed from the site http://www.fantasticnegrito.com.

Been listening to Justin Vernon's mate S Carey's album Hundred Acres a lot lately. Its quite lovely, and a rewarding full-length listen.

Pitchfork wrote: "It’s concerned with “trying to live a simpler life and doing the things you want with the people you love,” he told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. This statement squares with the fly-fishing victories Carey shares on Instagram and the sound of Hundred Acres: The tunes are full of big-hearted open chords, sweetly bowed strings, restorative synths, and stories about perseverance, love, and hiding in coves with lovers. The music heaves like foam on lake shores."

Well worth a listen if you are looking for something soft and simple. Here's More I See.

Trampled by Turtles "Life Is Good on the Open Road" is really wonderful. Feels like a natural companion to Simonett's Dead Man Winter album "Furnace."
