I really don’t get the praise for their rhythm section. They’re the Van Halen of the 90s - exceptional singer and guitarist plus a couple of perfectly fine guys on bass and drums.
Wilk and Tm C are the main reason why i listen to Rage.
Wilk is extremely basic. Which is why I feel I can emulate him. Not a knock, it works fine. He provides exactly what the songs need.
his work on audioslave with Timmy C is just wonderful. Besides his recording with Black Sabbath.
Also i saw him live with Smashing Pumpkins and it was great. A wide range of styles.

I wonder if Zack has any misgivings about his gun lyrics as gun violence has become more of a hot button issue?

etc
You think he’s more in the mindset of playing defense or offense with that gun?

I haven't listened to RATM for a long time but if I were to make a retrospective/playlist-type thing this would be really close to my list. I'd probably dump "Revolver" and add "No Shelter," and maybe another track from Battle of Los Angeles.

I was only able to listen to the first couple of tracks on Evil Empire last week. Based on that small sample size I think it's their best sounding record.
