"Promised Land" is one of my favorite Grateful Dead concert openers. I also really like George Harrison's "Roll Over Beethoven."

Is his brother cousin, Marvin, still around and playing?

Chuck Berry is the man!
hard to believe My-Ding-A-Ling is his only #1, and, that his only #1 was #1 when Elvis Presley had Burning Love at #2

also amazing that he didnt tour with a band, hed literally hire local musicians / send them what songs to learn, and just show up and play.

and, speaking of Elvis, always loved Elvis's cover of Promised Land [YouTube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zovB080w3r0

I love watching the recent concerts. Old man can barely stand up, speak or hold the guitar, but he keeps on chugging away out of tune!

I'm not getting more friends with this post, but people were actually refunded a while ago because his performance was so bad.

Pretty sure this was all about money (and to avoid paying taxes). What I've heard, he was also kind of an asshole towards the promoters and the musicians he hired. Many times the musicians had no idea about the setlist before the gig, and he used to fire band members mid performance. That being said I still have this concert on VHS and I love his performance here, and love his music in general:

Don't you have a podcast to record or something, dick?

EDIT: and it's already been acknowledged, chum.

EDIT 2: it was acknowledged right away... now go suck a long... a longneck, you goofy hobbit-looking mothereffer!
