Thanks for the Loose Fur update Chris! Listened to both of them last week and I am so ready

Don’t get a big head, but I actually had you in mind when I asked him about it based on our posts from a couple of years ago.

what songs did you pick?

Mystery Binds

[Jeff's Choice]

how'd this go?

sorry. i missed this.

it was one of the better "living room" shows i've been to. jeff was in super good spirits, and joking around all the time. both of his head sound men were there again recording the show. jeff also brings susan, his wife, who this time brought her 90 year old dad who was a major firecracker. he was hysterical, making comments from the peanut gallery like the critics in the muppets.

i ended up getting Hints, which was great.

still no word on another loose fur album other than "it's still in the works."

does he release the recordings of these living room shows?

They can only be purchased using an AmEx Centurion Card.

Been spending more time with Cruel Country. I'd say like 1/3 of this album is some of the best stuff Jeff's ever written. The Plains is so effing good.

The rest of the album is just the and having fun, which is great too.

Track listing for the new “art pop” album “Cousin” was inadvertently leaked on the official band page before being deleted:

1- "Infinite Surprise"
2- "Ten Day"
3- "Levee"
4- "Evicted"
5- "Sunlight Ends"
6- "A Bowl & A Pudding"
7- "Cousin"
8- "Pittsburgh"
9- "Soldier Child"
10- "Meant To Be"

No release date yet, but “soon” seems to be the consensus

Rumors that the record was produced by an alum of both their Solid Sound / SBS festival. Cate Le Bon is rumored to be the producer.

Edit: I deleted Japanese Breakfast from the rumored producer list after having done some more digging.

Anyone not familiar with Cate Le Bon should check her out.

I'm in love with Cate Le Bon's Reward. "Mother's Mother's Magazines" is an early favorite. If you like Kate Bush, you'll like this.

Brilliant songwriter takes a quirky approach to indie pop. Imagine if Kate Bush and Karl Blau had a baby.

Cate Le Bon’s new one is magnificent. Similar pallet as the last one, but more angular in its chords and melodies.

I am looking forward to this. I enjoy country Wilco but I really enjoy wiggy Wilco.

Haven’t heard it myself. Reviews are that it would fit comfortably on The Whole Love.

Quite like this new song. But based on just this track, “art pop” is a stretch. Sounds like Cruel Country with some minor synth flourishes. But it’s got the best depth/space or anything they’ve done since…a long time ago. Sounds more fleshed out than just the band in their loft.

Cate le Bon gets producer credit on the track :bammer: So maybe this song is an outlier on a more art-pop album

just kidding.

the new song is fine. I'll likely wait until the album comes out to listen again.
