Doing a deep dive on ELP this week. There is a whole lotta keyboard going on here. Wow.
And they do enjoy their classical pieces, don't they.
Have fun. I am a big fan and even I concede that outside of Brain Salad Surgery, they work best as a compilations band. I'd like to hear what you think of the album and song Tarkus. The album is in my top three with Brain Salad Surgery and Works Vol. 1.
I think there are a couple songs on every album (up through Works Vol. 2) that are great if you appreciate prog rock. Weird to think they were a stadium band at one point, playing the music they did.

I was listening to Tarkus and looked down and was like, Oh, I'm still on the first song.
Random thought: I'd like to start a Deep Dives thread but as I'm leaving for a two-week vacation in two days now is not the best time to start such a thing.
A high-profile Los Angeles law firm representing multiple recording artists plans to file legal action as early as next week in response to news that a massive number of original master recordings were destroyed in a 2008 fire at Universal Studios Hollywood.
“We have many very concerned clients,” attorney Howard King, partner in King, Holmes, Paterno & Soriano, said Thursday. “This has a potentially huge impact on their future, coupled with the rather disturbing fact that no one ever told them that their intellectual property may have been destroyed. There is a significant amount of discussion going on, and there will be formal action taken.”
Oh nothing, just 700 more artists/bands adding their name to the list:

It also sounds like UMG has no idea what's going on
Quote:
UMG’s own lists present riddles. Documents show that the company believed it had lost recordings by one of music’s most zealous audiophiles, Neil Young — whose website offers high-resolution versions of his complete discography, presumably sourced from the original masters. It is unclear if the Young recordings thought by UMG to have been destroyed were safety copies of the four albums he recorded for Geffen in the 1980s or outtakes from the sessions for those albums, or if UMG officials were simply mistaken about Young having had material in the backlot vault.
