Holy shit, Peter Gabriel's Melt (1980) is an amazing album. For Gabriel, I'd previously only listened to these albums front-to-back:
So Up Passion (Last Temptation of Christ OST) Duke (Genesis, technically)
And then of course I knew all his big singles. But my ears had been craving a certain sound, so I did some digging, and came up with Melt. It's a stellar album, and blows those other albums out of the water (So is amazing too, but it's a pop record, which this one definitely is not). It's incredibly textured/layered, inventive, and dark. I can hear Fripp, Reich, Eno, NIN, all sorts of stuff...And yet it's its own thing entirely. Amazing headphone album that I'll be digging into more and more.
Not available on any of the streaming platforms, so you'll have to find a hard copy or download. Anyone who wants a DL, feel free to PM me.
I saw Jerry Leger & the Situation in Oslo last night, and I was very impressed. They played a sort of Americana and Leger's voice was really impressive. A little Dylan, a little Gary Louris. I'm surprised these guys aren't bigger.

In all honesty, trag, I'm not familiar with that record. But I enjoy a lot of his other work, tremendously. And I'd imagine that I'd like that record, too. I was just hurt that I wasn't included is all. I'll give the record a listen.
