As a kid I did, but no longer. If it's good enough for the Netherlands, then it's good enough for me.
Plus, if I suffer a catastrophic brain injury I will 100% deserve it. Who crashes their bike? Idiots, that's who. Always ride defensively, as though everyone around you is a complete moron (they are).

i know a guy who doesn't wear his seatbelt in his truck because he thinks he's rebelling against the government. his kids copy them now, and one of them was throw across their car in a fender bender. absolutely insane that some people are allowed to procreate.

My dad used to drive without a seatbelt. He only started b/c he wasn't allowed to drive my kids anywhere.
I used to live next door to a traffic engineer who told me that leaving your belt off makes you more likely to get into an accident. Not only does it keep you from flying out of the windshield in an accident, it keeps you in your seat if you have to make an emergency maneuver. Apparently people have had to jerk the wheel to avoid an accident, but then they get thrown out of their seat or off the pedals and end up wrecking anyhow because they don't have control of their car.

I feel like we’re so close to the old seatbelts and facemasks comparisons that we should unban verb.
