i think i'm looking forward to the quietness and less people most of all..there will be no noise of garbage trucks 4 days a week..no sirens..no traffic..it won't take me 5 minutes to turn right everyday along pacific coast highway..no crazy soccer mom drivers..i just need to avoid some deer in the road

Do they get much snow and ice there?
when we were there last january and february they had quite a bit of snow...i had a great time shoveling a 100ft driveway and spreading salt..

How’d the driving go, considering the last two places you’ve lived are LA and NYC?

it was fine..the few times it did snow or ice over we actually would park our car outside at the top of the driveway plus they left their 4wd jeep there..that jeep is no longer hence the reason we're thinking of getting a truck when we get up there..we'll see

I’m supposed to go to the lake later today; my first lake day in three years. Hope say “supposed” because the forecast is iffy at best. A pool party tomorrow evening is even more doubtful tomorrow for the same reason. I do have a fantasy football draft tomorrow afternoon. I am out of the league but help run the board.
taking the kids and some of their friends down to the Asian District tomorrow to walk around the market, maybe get some snacks and drinks. when these three-day weekends pop-up it's good to entertain the beasts for a spell, lest they murder each other out of boredom.
