Late to the game wease. Would it hurt to contact them and explain you liked their qualifications but the salary they are looking for doesn’t match and ask if they are still interested?
3 jobs ago I hated working there. When I got hired at the next job I took a pay cut just to leave. It can’t hurt to reach out can it?

Things your co-workers say: Mrs. Bam took me out last night including overnight hotel stay. Multiple female co-workers last week said to me something to the effect of “Ooooh you’re gonna make triplets this weekend!”

So as part of my responsibilities, I have to hire new people for my centers. We’re in the beginning phase of opening a new center and I’m going thru provider applications/résumés. I’m looking at one right now and and the first thing I look at what kind of salary they’re looking for. This one is asking for way more than what I can pay so in my mind, it’s immediately in the NO pile. But then I start reading the resume and they outline working with transgender patients and managing their meds and just overall caring for that particular group. Then I immediately start thinking that if I just say no and be done with it like I would any other resume, what if this person thinks I turned them down based on what they’ve listed in regards to the trans patients. Which I fully support, btw. I don’t want them to think that but I can’t help feeling there’s no way they wouldn’t. Now I don’t know what to do.
Make sure you keep a decent work paper justifying your decision to go no based on unrealistic pay expectations against budget.
Move on to next applicant.
But seriously, why are salaries and pay rates such big secrets. Kinda sucks that a person can get automatically shit canned because they come out and say what they want to be paid whilst the person hiring never has to mention the actual pay for the position.

People often take pay cuts if the job is right. I just did that. Open communication is the key. If salary is the only hindrance, at least make a phone call. Then it’s them that is turning it down based on facts.

At this point in the process HR handles the communication with the applicant. They give me the info and I decide whether or not I will consider them for the position and if I do then I contact them and set up an interview. If I don’t, then HR gets with them and let’s them know we’re not moving forward with them.

I resigned from my job today. I really liked this position. I was even choked up. I haven't told my staff yet. That's going to tug at the emotions. The new job is better on paper across the board.

Hey wease what should I do with this resume’ that just came in? - Says he only wants a job for about a year until law school starts - About 30 years old based on school dates given - Discloses his high school nickname - Indicates he is married, expecting baby, and states how many siblings he has - Namedrops both his dad and his grandpa - Has been to (Jeff Ament’s hometown of) Havre, MT
