Again sorting thru applications and I see a familiar name. She’s applied for 4 out of the 6 listings I currently have open. She’s got a great resume, and someone is definitely be interested in hiring. BUT, I had already scheduled an interview a month ago and she no-showed it. Every person I’ve given a second chance to has fucked me over, so I’m quite reluctant in giving her another chance. So, do I take the chance and try again or just mark her as rejected and go on?

I think we're basically hiring anyone who applies. We all agreed that someone was woefully under qualified and not a good fit, but the bosses hired them anyway.

Had to fire another one today. One of my center staff got confrontational with a patient. I had written her up a few months back for the same thing, but the patient pretty much started all that so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and just gave her a final write up. Well, it happened again today but this time she started everything. She even stormed into the patient’s room and went after them. I told her to leave and that she was fired so she decided to hang out in the parking lot and wait for the patient to come out so she could beat their ass for getting her fired. At that point, we had to call for police intervention. So they escorted her off the property. She went to the convenience store next door. About this time I found out she carries a gun so I had the police stay with her so she wouldn’t follow the patient home and I had them follow the patient at least part of the way home as well.
I had already planned on firing her anyway because she’s just terrible and I actually already had 2 interviews set up for tomorrow to hire her replacement.

I have to admit I did have the thought she’d be sitting there waiting to pick me off tomorrow. But she never knew I was supposed to be there so I should be ok.

I interviewed my boss’s first choice for a new manager in our accounting department. I told her “hard pass” and so she’s gonna bring in someone else. He did not carry a gun as far as I know, though.
