I’m planning some little league stuff with a group of other dads. All but one of us have our kids at the local public school. The guy running point for our group has his kids in Catholic school.
So he sets up all the dates for everything. Like a week later he texts us that he has to reschedule it because he forgot about Easter.

My kids have a basketball game today, the other team has a bunch of their classmates on it. Including the one kid who is heads and tails the best athlete in their age group. Honestly he's probably better at all the sports than any kid even a grade older in the whole city.
He's out of town today, so my kids are getting very cocky about winning. I'll let you guys know how it goes, and Peeps if I'm able to find a box score for this 8 year old rec league game I'll be sure to send it your way immediately.

my mom has been our kids' baby sitter since they were croutons... she's retired and loves spending so much time with them... i can't imagine dropping them off with some stranger at such a young age to mingle with everything else that goes into a salad
yeah, who needs social development, amirite?
Explains quite a bit, doesn’t it?
Yes, it explains that those kids got to spend their pre-school years with a loving grandmother.
What are you saying it explains?

Big day at school for the kid as a vet and a dog are coming to visit. Just saw some pics, I don’t think they let the kids within twenty feet of the dog.
We switched to full days from half days on Tuesdays this week but someone didn’t get the memo. School just called asking if I’d be picking up my kid and now I feel like a deadbeat dad.
My kid is sick and thinks puking is "peeing from her mouh” so she makes it to the toilet but then proceeds to sit on it and pukes all over herself. So close.
I’ve been trying to iron out the finer details with her, but she’s in no mood.

Ugh, just got an email from her school that someone in her class has strep throat/scarlet fever. Vomiting is a symptom…
Wife is flying out for work later today too. Kid always seems to get sick whenever I’m about to be parenting solo. As long as I don’t get it, we’ll be alright.

It sure is. Better get her checked out.
One surprising symptom of strep I never knew about before getting into healthcare is a rash. We’d have kids come in all the time with an odd rash and sure enough, they’d have strep.

Since we were both up most of the night, she just wrapped an epic nap and seems herself. Says she feels good, no fever, and hasn’t spewed since 8:30am or so. We’ll see what tonight brings, but perhaps out of the woods.
