Man, seriously. I got my cold from the wife, who got it from the kid. Big family Xmas party next weekend, and part of me wants to skip cuz I know we’ll probably catch something that’ll FUBAR our Xmas break.

Now that the COVID hysteria/cautiousness has come and gone, we just accept a number of us will always have the sniffles or be feeling down. Won't let it ruin our plans!
I woke up with a scratchy throat that doesn’t seem to be getting worse but isnt going away either. After several weeks of good health, after catching numerous bugs the last two months of 2023, I am not ready to be sick again! Especially since I’m solo parenting til Friday.

I don't want to jinx myself...and it's probably more luck than anything else, but before - and since - cold and flu season started I've gargled listerine morning and night. everyone around me has gotten some form of illness, and I've managed to dodge it. And I've got four kids who are iffy at best when it comes to personal hygiene.
listerine is a disinfectant...

I like this and may adopt it. Coincidentally, I just swished some around before leaving to get my kid at school then taking her to the dentist.
Even if it isn’t me in the chair, I like having fresh breath and avoiding any judgement there.

This appears to have been a false alarm, but now the kid has been producing massive booger stalactites out of her nose whenever she sneezes, so back on alert.
