There’s something i dunno … romantic? … about in n out. Speaking as someone who can’t get it here locally.

But yeah just terrible fries.

In & Out burgers are solid if you go wild with toppings

Last time my wife and I ate there, our order of fries were completely different. One was limp and soggy, the other was super crispy but too salty. Was like they used the stuff that’d been hanging out for one order, for some fresh ones going for the other.

But beyond all that, food has a strong connection to place. And like a shitty hotdog and Fenway Park, it’s impossible for me not to love I&O because it’s always a fun component of an awesome trip bopping around LA.

I'll add my voice to the "I don't get it" choir re: In & Out. You're supposed to get the fries "animal style" and I did and they still sucked!

Whataburger is probably the most underrated American fast food chain.

I’m with trag. In n out is just part of a fun trip to Cali (Zona, Vegas).

I went with a group of locals and got what they told me to get. I don't remember what toppings I got on my burger though

Never tried Shake Shack either

I enjoy Shake Shack but I do think, as good as it is, and as much as I recommend trying it, at this point it's absolutely overrated.

I'm talking about a state of anarchy in Austin Texas and all these people can think about is ranking fast food. Unbelievable.
