The food is easily some of the best in the country. It's the source of a deep psychological conflict for me.

It's 100% accurate out to about 80th - 101st St. There's another world entirely once you get out of the bubble.

I can confirm. I still remember that chili and cornbread...and those dosas...and that donut...

Portland is a tough call. I've only been the one time, but I can appreciate that it at least feels different from other cities. I'm just not entirely convinced I like all of the ways that it's chosen to differentiate itself.
