I passed no fewer than three pest control vehicles today with some variation on camouflage and cross-hair imagery wrapped all over their vehicles and thought of this post.

How my bank charges a $5 service fee only when my checking account balance falls under $500. So, like, if you're broke you get charged but if you have money you're good, it's on us. WTF. Should be opposite.

You can do a small amount of homework and find a bank that does less of this, or none at all. Better yet, look into credit unions.

I bank with Navy Federal and use them for my mortgage and auto loans as well. Amazing customer service and good rates.

They seem to be growing like crazy. 5 years ago there was one branch in the entire Houston area. Now they are popping up everywhere.

USAA is for military members and their families only. No branches except in Texas, but they have been doing online banking, including photo check deposit, for like ten years longer than most national banks. Great auto insurance as well.
