The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.
did the most dad thing i could think of today. ran to lowes for supplies to do a deep clean of our grill. i think we've owned it as long as we've been in this house...at least four years, and i've only brushed the grates.
i watched a handful of youtube vids to see how it's done, and all of them said it takes about two hours from start to finish. i think it took four hours. i listened to wilco while cleaning, adding to the dad vibes. when i finally finished i reseasoned the grates. now i'm on a mission to find a stainless steel griddle to try my hand a Smashburger summer.
i hope things improve for trag and Reid.
You’re going to eat beef?
oh, heavens no. one of my kids is a bit of a picky eater. one of the foods he's limited himself to are mcdonald's cheeseburgers, sans onions, which, let's be honest...fast food joints aren't trying hard to make your order just right.
so i asked him if i made our own version of the cheeseburger at home, but as a Smashburger, would he try it, and he said he would. of course, the rest of my guys are hyped about the prospect of a Smashburger.
every corner of my body aches this morning, but the grill is clean!

I’m wrapping up a day that’s similar to Reid’s, just a giant pain in the ass. But he’s had multiples days like this in a row, so I’ll spare the details.
Sorry Reid. Hoping your Sunday is better.
Share away if you want. This is the place. Hope your day gets a little better tomorrow too.
Or I hope at least that doug shares whatever the tragabigzanda road equivalent of Astros ephemera is with you.
hang in there, fellas. smoother roads ahead.
Thanks spike and dad and Reid.
One of the best parts about being a dad is that there’s just no time to harbor resentments. That shit was yesterday; may as well be ten years ago. Shaping up to be a great Sunday here.
didn't mean to bottom page you.
you're right. no need to hold on to that shit. good on you for having a good outlook.

i'm enjoying my morning ritual of coffee (and water) and breakfast, and word games. i'm playing some wilco in the background. we'll take the dog to "group classes" around 1p, then I'll mow when we get home. it's only supposed to get to 70 today, perfect for mowing. then I'll probably do some meal prep for the week as it's my week to go into the office.

Oh man. If went great, thanks. Didn’t have as many as we thought would show up but the Weaseling had a great time and Mrs Wease was satisfied. Those two points were all I cared about so it was a smash success.
The only down point was the cousin we’re moving next weekend was here for, like, 7 hours. And we have to go to her place today and finalize packing for shipment. So that’s two weekends in a row with her. I just don’t know how I’m going to make it.

Kid slept til 7am, pretty good. Salmon/tomato/cream cheese English muffin and coffee. Watched the Spanish Gran Prix with the wife (caught her eye as she did a F1 pit crew group exercise a couple weeks ago in London). Pretty fun; the length (mainly in time) and course make it much more interesting than Indy racing.
Took the girls to Target and Home Depot for some things. Grilled burgers on the egg for lunch, then tossed a rack of ribs on for dinner. Planted flowers in the window boxes and veggies in the garden, mowed the lawn. Girls are both napping atm, so drinking a sneaky beer and watching golf.

Finished packing the cousin and took 9 boxes to the UPS Store to ship. Supposed to be there the same day we arrive.
Just completed the youngest Weaseling’s biweekly mowing gig so I’ve taken her for a snowcone. When we get back home I have 4 loads of towels to fold and my/Mrs Wease’s laundry can be started then I get to start on supper. The oldest Weaseling has requested chicken tenders in the garlic cream sauce I sometimes make with salmon.

Sitting in the local university’s gymnasium waiting for the oldest Weaseling’s high school graduation to start. We’re having a big soirée after and have spent all week getting the house ready. Exhausted, excited, sad. Just the full gamut of emotions today.
I can imagine. Hope it was a great day for your kid and you.
