Got my six month statement on my 401k today. I am one who normally don’t look at the monthly ones but I saw this was a thicker envelope than usual so I took a look.

Got mine, too. Down 14%. If I lost that much money in any other way (gambling, unexpected expense, taxes, etc), I’d be on a bridge thinking about jumping.

On a positive note, I had sex this afternoon (there used to be a thread for that) and ate a huge burrito for dinner. 25 years ago this would have been the best day of my life. Today it was just a pretty nice Saturday. If 10th grade me knew what 45 year old me’s life was going to be like, it could have saved him a lot of depression and anxiety.

Floated the Yellowstone River yesterday. Have done it numerous times but this was the first time since the flooding last month. Pretty crazy: big pieces of houses, doorways, decks, bathroom vanities strewed along the riverbanks. Some seriously bad erosion that is making some homeowners very stressed out. And one dead, bloated bison that had obviously drowned in the flood.
