On my drive home from work I saw a car in front of me swerve into the other lane and then I noticed why, it was because there was a turtle on the road. I didn’t swerve but I veered to the right to avoid running it over. I noticed in my rearview mirror the truck behind me doing the same. My mood elevated a little bit

Had the day off and did some yard work this morning before voting. I went to a nearby state park and did a 3-4 mile walk along a small, rock strewn river. Beautiful day to be outside but if my allergies are acting up tonight I will know why. I have been to this park hundreds of times over the years. Growing up I never saw anyone get in the river but over the past few years it’s not uncommon for people to get out among the shoals. The water is only waist deep but the rocks are slippery and while it’s not encouraged by rangers but they generally leave people alone. But imagine my surprise today I saw two topless hippie chicks and a naked dude out on the rocks. The park wasn’t too crowded and they were a ways down the trail in a fairly secluded stretch but still. I wasn’t offended by the nudity but was surprised how out in the open they were.

Thanks all, appreciate the vibes!
She's still in hospital but feeling waaay better. They caught an infection, filled her with IV fluids and have given us the ability to just call straight away in future if there are any issues/problems. So all-in-all a good trip to the ED!
She has 4 treatments total, 1 every 21 days, so next treatment is in 2 weeks. The treatments themselves are easy enough but the week after kinda sucks and sucks a little more each time.
Many positives though, and she's 1 treatment down already, so we are on the way to the finish line. Hopefully the ED visit will help with a few other bits and pieces too and she'll be a lot more comfy with future treatments.
On a positive note my son and a few of his mates hop on a plane tonight and head off to the US. They are flying to LAX then onto Las Vegas, gearing up for the EDC festival there this weekend. Just had his negative PCR confirmed so he is excited as.
So watch out for a group of 6 or so young Aussie hooligans drinking their way across your great land over the next 2 months. As he would say, "LET'S GOOOOOO!!"

Two more neighbors died on our block. That's four in the last six weeks. Probably a good omen

One was assaulted at a nightclub by the bouncer and went into a coma. One was an older guy who had a heart attack. One was a lifelong smoker who had a stroke. Newest one looks like a drug overdose.

Depending on how you look at it, it's either a really good or really bad time to buy a house on my block

seems par for the course for Philly. That's in no way meant to be a dig. Just similar to MA: Provincial place with a lot of set-in-their-ways people who aren't apt to start exercising, eating healthy, kicking drugs, etc. They're less motivated to change because they're surrounded by the same people they've always known, and their quality of life is reinforced as being A-ok by virtue of nobody saying otherwise. Then you through pandemic/economic stress on top of it...
Anyway, maybe I'm projecting, but your block sounds like any number of blocks where I grew up.
