If we had started an “everybody hates Ted Cruz” thread in 2013, it would be 63 pages long and valued at $97 today.

Although to be fair, when I woke up I almost posted "The FEC has their eye on him."

The depth (perception) of this investigation could surface more trouble for him.

I dunno, I kinda think the funniest thing about Dan Crenshaw is how he preened and fluffed his feathers, and then skydived into the Georgia race like a goddamn Avenger and lost.

Idk whether this should be in this thread or the Biden thread, but I haven't seen anybody mention yesterday's decision from the senate parliamentarian regarding reconciliation. It's a huge deal.

So was this limited to one bill (reconciliation) in the past, but now it was ruled they can do 3 this fiscal year? Obviously the infrastructure bill would be one (and a big one at that). This is only for spending bills, though, right?

Good thing blue team leadership ignored the clown Squad's temper-tantrum and didn't fire her last month, huh?

Yes, but that's an astounding rule change. It still needs to be tax and spending related, but wow. Maybe I'm overreacting but this feels like a monumental change in the power of a party holding the House, Senate, and White House.

I wonder how Manchin will yield his power as the the most powerful person in U.S. domestic policy. He ought to leverage this into all sorts of giveaways for West Virginia.

I'm pretty happy with how Team Blue has navigated the divide within their ranks. The ideas are big, seem to be landing somewhere between the type of stuff we saw out of the Obama admin, and what we may have seen with the progressives in charge.

It does seem like a big deal, but Joe Manchin was my first thought. Hopefully they can appease him while still getting worthwhile, big things done with this opportunity.

Me too. This is why Biden was the right choice this time through, to provide that bridge.

I thought Pelosi grew a pair told them to fuck off with this nonsense.

Yea, that's not an oops. I was very surprised to learn about this legislation, didn't think Dems would actually go that far. And then we learned they won't.
