Boy is he ever. Also, Gwar is playing across the street. To say that the mix of people so far has been interesting would be an understatement. We're not even open for another hour.

at least in MT, I'd regard any such data as highly suspect, as absentee ballots didn't even hit mailboxes until middle-to-late part of last week, and likely haven't been dropped back in the mail until this morning.

I don't think there will be enough new people voting in Texas to elect Beto.

I see Beto going on Maher and getting the rest of the nation excited for him, and it totally excites me too. I canvassed for Obama in '08 as one of those new people voting and it feels to me like the energy that Beto is bringing to the state is on that same level.

That being said, I am well aware that I live in one of the large liberal bubbles in a state much redder than the national media understands. Districts are gerrymandered, Cruz is actually liked by a lot of conservatives here, and the "generational language barrier" McP referred to earlier is alive and well here in Texas...but with the left looking out of step with "Texan grit", whatever that actually is.

I don't think this state is ready for Beto yet, but I do hope that his noble quest will help a lot of more local democrats reshape the state's overall look. this time around.

I dont think gerrymandering applies here though, right? Are Congressional races based on the popular vote?

Gerrymandering won't affect a Senate race.

I just copied and pasted the whole post, dude sir friend you willfully obtuse man trag. My rebuttal is in there. Houston is not reflective of the state as a whole. Same for Austin. Same for San Antonio. Etc Etc.

Skateboarding is more of a California thing. He should have gone with calf roping or something.

when Cruz gets elected he can shout angry things at the immigration caravan, in spanish

that's a desirable skill set for a 2018 US Senator

also he's pretty good at eating paint chips

which is very relatable to the average voter at this point in U.S. history
